Introduction
GCSE Business Studies is taught by Miss E Reid. Most lessons take place in room T5 in the Tribe building, which has 16 PCs, a laser printer, an interactive whiteboard and a DVD player with sound system. The department also has a wide range of text books, videos/DVD's and case study information about real businesses.
What is Business Studies?
Business Studies is an optional subject that is offered as a GCSE for year 10 and 11 students and as an 'A' level for Year 12 and 13 students. Business Studies is quite simply the study of all
aspects of business. It includes a wide range of topics such as:
- Who owns and control different types of businesses
- How businesses are set up
- The aims of businesses
- How businesses advertise and promote their products
- The different methods of production that businesses use
- How businesses calculate their profits and losses
- How and why businesses train and motivate their employees
- How businesses are affected by the law
- How ICT is used by businesses
