The Downs School is a coeducational, comprehensive school serving the scattered rural community of the Berkshire Downs and beyond. The location has good road links to Newbury, Reading, Didcot and Oxford - situated 10 minutes from the A34. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and are firmly committed to establishing first class standards and are proud of our achievements. Our expectations are high and this is reflected in our very successful academic record. The School was inspected in June 2013 under the new framework and was judged 'Outstanding'. The Downs School is a stimulating and friendly environment to work in and also offers an excellent established induction and CPD programme to support staff. Compton CE Primary School has been federated with The Downs School since July 2012.

Lead Practitioner (Mathematics)

Salary: Leadership Scale 5-9 (R&R for the right candidate)
Contract type: Full time and permanent

Are you an established leader looking to share knowledge and expertise? Or are you an ambitious and successful Mathematics Teacher looking for the next step up?

Working across key stages 3, 4 and 5 you will provide inspirational, innovative and motivational leadership for the improvement of teaching and learning in mathematics. This is an exciting developmental opportunity and it is anticipated that this position will develop into a school wide role, where the lead practitioner will work with leaders and teachers to support and innovate excellent practice across the curriculum.
