Farewell to our Year 13
Friday, 27nd May 2011 was a day of mixed emotions for our Year 13 pupils, some of whom have been members of the Downs community for seven years, as it was their last official day as members of the sixth form. Teachers too were unusually nostalgic but knowing that their students were well prepared for the future.

The atmosphere of the day was light hearted with the obligatory mild pranks and fancy dress was worn by all. After the initial fun of arrival, there was a range of activities which included, an assembly where old student photographs and anecdotes were freely the subject of Head of Sixth Form, Mr Hartley’s, wry sense of humour.
A barbeque allowed students time to enjoy the company of friends and colleagues before going on study leave and settling down to hard work before their exams in June.
We will miss them, wish them all well on results day and in their new challenges ahead.
