Downs School Students Receive Exam Board Personal Congratulations
Downs School students, Sophie and Lizzie, were amongst the top ten students in the country in their recent public examinations and are pictured, with Headteacher Mrs Houldey, receiving their letters of congratulation from the exam board.

Sophie sat the Drama and Theatre Studies AS earlier this summer and the results show that out of 12487 candidates, Sophie was amongst the top ten. Similarly, Lizzie who sat the GCSE Spanish exam was among the top ten out of 15756 candidates.
Val Houldey, Headteacher at The Downs commented,
Sophie and Lizzie are both exceptional students. They are good all rounders and lovely people, as well as being particularly gifted. We are really proud of them.
Now, Sophie is in Year 13 and studying hard for her A2 examinations. She said,
A very unexpected surprise, which has convinced me to continue this further to A2, along with Spanish, Geography and Economics.
Lizzie has just started her AS courses at The Downs School, which, of course include Spanish. She was delighted with the news saying,
ٱ Estoy muy contenta ٳ
