Whole School Sponsored Walk
A Real Sense of Community

The Downs School turned out it force on Friday afternoon, 25th September, as over 1000 students and 100 members of staff walked over six miles to raise money for school based student projects.

The route took the students out of Compton and up on the Ridgeway before an undulating return route back to the school. The Year 13 students acted as marshals and everyone made it round the course and got back to school in time for the bus home.
The perfect weather added to the carnival atmosphere and real sense of community as parents, non-teaching staff and students all joined together to support each other.
A special mention goes to Tom, a Year 11 student, who made it round the course in an astonishing 39 minutes closely followed by Head of PE Andy Colling who rolled back the years to clock an impressive 42 minutes.
