We Will Rock You Musical
The Downs School Rocks!
Following on from the hugely successful Musical Performances of previous years, The Downs School brought the house down with “We Will Rock You”. Tickets were sold out and the atmosphere was electric.
Students from the full age range across the school took part having auditioned earlier in the year. The cast totalled over 50, comprising main parts, chorus singers, dancers and musicians. In addition to this there were many backstage who had helped create scenery and costumes and on performance evenings make-up artists and dressers! Last but not least the technical crew in charge of light and sound, who were largely Btec students studying music technology.
For three evenings at the beginning of March, the time is the future. It’s a safe happy Ga Ga world but resistance is growing to computer generated music and restricted fashion. The Bohemians, rebels, need a hero to find the place of living rock. Is the one who calls himself Galileo that man and can he get there before the Killer Queen destroys him?
Actors, musicians and audience alike were absorbed in the futuristic story and fantastic music; an amazing and truly memorable show.
