Library Book Group
Christmas Party
Library Book Group members had a great time at their Christmas party. Librarians, Mrs Stride and Mrs Coker, provided biscuits, crisps and lemonade, the room was decorated for the occasion and festive music encouraged a seasonal atmosphere. Pupils were pleased to learn that their votes have ensured that “Blood Red Road” by Moira Young (their most recent read) has been included on this year’s Berkshire Book Award shortlist. The group are looking forward to posting their reviews on the award website, as well as to reading and comparing the other titles, in January, 2012.

Book Group members are pictured in front of a (partly constructed) charity snowman. Pupils have donated for Naomi House (children’s hospice) in return for chocolate snowmen and paper snowballs - the latter are being used to “build” the library’s Christmas display.
