Year 10 Geography Fieldtrip
Rushall Organic Farm and River Pang

A group of Downs School year 10 students spent the day collecting data on the River Pang at Rushall Organic Farm in preparation for controlled assessment associated with their GCSE geography exams. They collected various pieces of data at different sites along the river. The data included river width, depth, velocity, gradient and other data depending on the focus of student’s investigation. It was a tiring but very worthwhile day.
Here is what Elly had to say,

The trip to Rushall organic farm was really fun. When we arrived we stepped into our waders, some went up around our waists and others just the lengths of our legs but going in the river with then was a really odd feeling; having the pressure of the water pressing against our legs. We learnt a lot from our guides and as we finished early at the end we got to go around the farm and hold the lambs, they were so cute! Our day was really interesting as well as being very educational. ![]()
