In July an excited group of year 8, 9 and 10 students flew from Heathrow to Stuttgart for the return leg of the German exchange 2016 at The Lisa-Meitner Gymnasium in Böblingen. The students were all really excited to see their exchange partners again after they came to stay with us in April.
The week was a real success with a jam packed programme, including visits to Europapark theme park, Tubingen old town, the Ritter Sport chocolate factory, the Daimler-Benz Museum and a trip to Stuttgart to buy souvenirs for family and friends back home. The students also enjoyed a weekend of fun activities organised by their host families.
We all (including staff) returned to school exhausted and a little sad from saying good-bye to our new friends, but with a sense that culturally and linguistically we had achieved so much – even if speaking German was a little scary at first!
