Mr Moo Juice owners Spencer Tarrant and Lee Chard definitely left the Downs School year 11 Business Studies students and their teacher Mr Holbrook with a burning new ambition to be an entrepreneur!
The students heard about the business of making milkshakes and owning a business in Newbury town centre. Both owners discussed their passion for making the best quality product and offering the best quality service.
Spencer and Lee talked about starting the business and discussed how they competed in their market. Luke, a Downs School student, asked how they battle the seasonal trends within their store. They responded by explaining how they have diversified, selling items like ‘roll over hot dogs’, hot drinks and soups as well as the seasonal milkshakes. Another student, Frances joked she would be looking out for a ‘Halloween shake’!
The event was a real educational experience for the Downs School students in the Business Studies class and they got an insight into what it was to be a business owner, the ways to grow a business, the costs, the training and ultimately the goal of owning a villa with a sea view in Barbados!
One added bonus for the students was the free milk shakes that Spencer happily gave to all the students who asked questions, leaving few unsatisfied customers!
