The Downs School Art Prizes
3 of 6 Prizes in County Competition go to the Downs School
Three students from the Downs School won a total of £300 for their school when they took 3 of the 6 prizes in a recent art competition run by BACYP, working with West Berkshire’s Safer Communities Partnership.

Prizes were awarded to:
Abigail 3rd prize juniors who won £50 for the school
Alex 1st prize seniors who won £200 for the school
Maisie 2nd prize juniors who won £50 for the school
Students attended the prize ceremony at Arlington Arts Centre on Wednesday night where all work entered was exhibited on the evening at Arlington. Three performances took place by local young people between speeches and prizes were awarded at the end of the ceremony.
The Downs School Head of Art, Mrs Sarah Palmer said,
The artwork submitted was a mixture of work entered by all of year 7 from 3D and 2D sculptures, mixed media and canvas work.
The Downs School aims to have their own exhibition of the work in the near future.
