Adventure Quest for Year 7
Each year an Adventure Quest Day is arranged for Y7 pupils.
We aim to challenge our students to an action-packed one day adventure that will see them working as a team, solving problems and relying on each other for every solution from combined strength to weight distribution to complete their critical “mission” in time. Completing set tasks leads them to clues which may be stashed away in treetops accessible only from a high ropes course or floating in a swamp. Students are encouraged to stretch themselves; however the emphasis is not on the success or failure of tasks but on the personal development students undergo by attempting them.

The beginning of October saw almost all our Year 7 students and their trusty tutors braving rain and mud to undertake the World Challenge’s “Da Vinci Mission” at Bushey in Hertfordshire. The teams had to recover pieces of a pyramid or a clock from the Da Vinci era and reclaim the relic before it was lost forever. A code had then to be worked out before the secret was revealed.

All the participating Year 7 students are to be heartily congratulated on their stunning behaviour, their willingness to join in and work together and on their sheer enthusiasm and energy! The World Challenge team had nothing but praise for the group, saying, “They’re one of the best schools we’ve had!”
The Year 7 tutor team and Ms Bentham, the Head of Year 7, eagerly anticipate a great year ahead!
Note: The photos shown here are actually from June 2007, as the poor light quality in October affected the current Year 7 photos.
